Reception - Einstein 2026 - 2027

Welcome to Reception! This marks the magical beginning of your child’s primary school journey in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our focus is on nurturing curiosity, fostering early friendships and creating a safe, joyous environment where learning happens through play and exploration. In Reception, every day is an adventure filled with laughter, wonder and the exciting first steps of a lifelong learning journey.

What to Expect in Reception

• Learning Through Play: Children explore phonics, early maths and handwriting through interactive play, hands-on activities and creative discovery.

• Building Social Foundations: We place a strong emphasis on sharing, empathy, communication and making new friends in a warm, welcoming community.

• Outdoor & Active Exploration: Learning extends far beyond the classroom into our dedicated outdoor area, encouraging physical development, teamwork and active outdoor play.

• Growing Daily Independence: From putting on coats to serving snack, children build everyday routines that boost their confidence and self-reliance.

Settling In & Early Years Foundations: A Note for Parents

Starting school is a big step for both children and parents, and we make the transition as smooth and happy as possible.

• A Gentle Start: Our staggered entry and settle-in sessions help children adapt comfortably to daily school routines at their own pace.

• The EYFS Framework: Children learn across seven key areas of development, blending teacher-led group sessions with child-initiated play.

• Parent Partnerships: We work closely with you through regular learning logs and open communication to share and celebrate your child’s milestones together.
