Year 5 - Peake 2025 - 2026
Mr Adelaide
Welcome to Year 5 Peake Class!
My name is Mr Adelaide and I teach Year 5 alongside Mr Whyte.
I am Teaching and Learning Lead at CHPS and continually look at how we can implement current education research in our classes to help all be the best learners they can be. I am part of the English Leadership team as the Reading Lead and am passionate about helping children develop their understanding of the world through reading. I am also a Primary Teaching for Mastery specialist in mathematics and love helping pupils build their mathematical knowledge and understanding.
Year 5 is an exciting and important year, full of opportunities for children to grow in confidence, independence and maturity as they move through Upper Key Stage 2. Our classroom is a positive and supportive space where every child is encouraged to aim high, challenge themselves and take pride in their achievements. We follow a rich and engaging curriculum that not only deepens knowledge and understanding but also promotes creativity, critical thinking and collaboration. As role models for younger pupils, Year 5 children are supported in developing leadership skills and a strong sense of responsibility — all while having fun and enjoying their learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy climbing/bouldering, cycling, cooking (and eating, of course) and watching the mighty Tottenham Hotspur!
I hope that this page will keep parents and carers up to date with all the exciting things that are happening in our year group. I am always happy to speak to parents or carers regarding any questions or concerns they may have, so feel free to see me after school or arrange a face-to-face appointment if ever you do need to discuss a matter.
