School Day

The gates open at 8.40am. Children can go up to class from 8.40am to begin learning. The gates close at 8.50am.

Lunchtime starts at noon for Reception and Key Stage 1 classes and 12.10pm - 1pm for Key Stage 2 classes. If children select to go home for lunch they are asked to return to school 15 minutes before the start of the afternoon session. School finishes at 3.15pm.

In KS1, the hours spent teaching during a normal school week, excluding collective worship, registration and playtime are 4 hours, 25 minutes per day. Total time 22 hours, 5 minutes per week.

In KS2, the hours spent teaching during a normal school week, excluding collective worship, registration and playtime are 4 hours, 50 minutes per day. Total time 24 hours 10 minutes per week.

The total opening hours, including Sunrise & Sunset Club wraparound care, per week (term time) are 52 hours 30 minutes.

The morning session in Nursery starts at 9am and finishes at 11.30am. The afternoon session starts at 12.45pm and finishes at 3.15pm. 

Staff will pass children over to recognisable adults only, to ensure that your child is in safe hands. If a member of staff does not recognise an adult, the child will not be released until the office has checked with the parent/carer.

Please give written notice to your child’s teacher or let the office know if you have arranged for someone else to collect your child from school. We cannot allow any unauthorised person to take your child away from school at any time.

Children in Y5 and Y6 are allowed to walk home on their own if their parents have provided us with written permission. Please note they are not permitted to take younger siblings home. Any child in Y4 or below needs to be collected by a known adult.
