Our Curriculum


Children are at the heart of our curriculum and we believe that every child should have the opportunity to develop and build their independence, self-esteem and self-confidence. Our curriculum is designed to recognise children’s prior learning, provide first hand learning experiences, allow the children to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and become creative, critical thinkers. 

Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values. We place a strong emphasis on ensuring all children reach their full potential and have aspirations and the belief that they can achieve them. We are committed to our pupils becoming lifelong learners who are well prepared for secondary school and for their future career in our society.

Our Aspire Believe Achieve value is embedded in our curriculum aims by providing:

  • Aspire A curriculum that provides a broad range of opportunities and enrichments designed to develop children's aspirations what is possible for them to achieve now and in the future.
  • Believe: A curriculum that develops and encourages a growth mindset to develop every child’s self belief and ambition to achieve.
  • Achieve: A curriculum that ensures all children have the skills, knowledge and attitude to achieve.
